THIS MAY AFFECT YOUR 2021 PROPERTY TAXES
The Board of Appeal and Equalization for Paynesville City will meet on Thursday, April 16, 2020, 6:00 - 6:30 p.m., at Paynesville City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact Jon Springer County Assessor at 320-656-3681 to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation and classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board will review your assessments and may make corrections as needed. Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county board of appeal and equalization.

Due to the growing concerns of COVID-19 we want to make sure all persons feel safe and can be heard at the Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting. You may contact the County Assessor, use the conference call option at 425-436-6367 with access code: 861978 or attend the meeting in person to discuss your value or classification of your property. If you plan to conference call in or attend the meeting, please email or drop off all documents related to your property that you would like presented on or before April 13, 2020 at City Hall. This can be accomplished by emailing your documents to City Hall, dropping off your documents at City Hall by making an appointment or using the City’s water bill drop box. If you plan to attend the meeting in person social distancing will be implemented, please contact City Hall to set up an appointment to be heard.
